Student Council

In any community it is important that all groups have a voice. Our Student Council is a representative forum for students. The purpose of such a Council is to provide students with a forum to air their views, to involve them in the development of school policies, and engage them in developing the school. The Student Council is invaluable as a student’s view of their working environment can be different to that of a teacher and their input can help build more positive Student-Teacher relationships.

Elections to the student council occur each September, each class should have a representative which is voted on by each class group (if more than one candidate puts themselves forward). A Junior and Senior head of the student council is elected after this. The council meets regularly during the school year and regularly organises events such as non-uniform days in order to fundraise for school facilities for students such as our water fountain in the assembly area or local charities.
