#DuffShieldFinal #JuniorRugby
Hard luck to the Junior Rugby Team who were beaten by Good Counsel College, New Ross in today’s Duff Shield Final.
The game was played in Energia Park, Donnybrook which added to the occasion. Both teams showed their physicality and skills during the first half – while St Mary’s had most of the possession it was New Counsel who led 5 -0 at half time.
Despite brave defending from St Mary’s , New Counsel scored twice more before the final whistle.
Huge credit to all players for such a spirited performance. It wasn’t our day. However many of this squad will play at Junior level again next year and will build on this experience. Mr Todd and Ms Delany look forward to working with this group again in September. Thanks to all the supporters who travelled to cheer the lads on.
